This makes all the difference
The Animal Spotter uses GPS to determine the location, which is sent to our online software via the internal SIM card (GPRS) in the GPS tracker. You then log in online to view the location data.
You attach the Animal Spotter to your horse’s halter or saddle using the strap provided. You can then view the location and other details online or via the smartphone app. Your horse’s location is shown on a map, and you can even zoom in for a detailed view.
The Animal Spotter works throughout Europe, which isn’t the case with all GPS trackers. So even if you’re travelling abroad, you can still use the Animal Spotter as normal. We recommend using the Animal Spotter outdoors. Indoors, the signal may be weaker, which could affect the accuracy of the location tracking.
The Spotter is equipped with a motion sensor that detects the difference between movement and stillness. When movement is detected, a location is sent every 3 minutes, which you can view immediately online via your account or the Spotter app. When the Spotter is stationary, the location is sent every 30 minutes.
That’s right, the Animal Spotter for horses is subscription-free. You can choose from prepaid credit packages of 3, 6 or 12 months. You can use the Animal Spotter as much as you like during this period, after which it stops working. This means you can stop using it for a while and then start using it again by topping up your credit. No use means no charges.
The Animal Spotter costs a one-off fee of €129.95 (including VAT) and operates on a prepaid credit basis. Find out how the credit works here.
You can set up different zones for the Animal Spotter. This is a virtual circle around a specific area, such as the stable, the woods or another area. You create a zone, and as soon as your horse enters or leaves the zone, you will receive a notification.
You can download the Spotter app for free from the App Store for iOS and the Google Play Store for Android. Once you have received the Animal Spotter, add it to the app and you can start using the horse GPS tracker.
The locations are stored for seven days and can be viewed via the online software and app.
The Animal Spotter’s battery life is 3-7 days. This depends entirely on how it is used. For example, if your horse is out and about all day, more locations will be sent, and the battery will last for a shorter period. If your horse is slightly less active, the battery will last longer.
The warranty period is 24 months. Should you experience any issues with the horse GPS tracker, our support team will first attempt to resolve the problem remotely. If this proves impossible, you can return the Animal Spotter and, if necessary, you will receive a replacement.
