This makes all the difference
The Spotter uses GPS to determine the location, which is sent to our online software via the built-in SIM card (GPRS). You then log in online to view the location data.
If you are using a GPS tracker for dementia, place it in the wearer’s coat, bag or walking frame. If you opt for a GPS watch, fasten the Spotter around the wrist. You can then view locations and other information online and via the Spotter smartphone app. The location is displayed on a map.
The Spotter GPS tracker works throughout Europe, which is not the case with all GPS trackers. This means the Spotter can also be used abroad. We recommend using the Spotter outdoors. Indoors, the signal may be weaker, which can affect the accuracy of the location tracking.
The Spotter GPS tracker is equipped with a motion sensor that detects the difference between movement and stillness. When the device is in motion, a location is sent every 60 seconds, which you can view immediately online via your account or the Spotter app. When the Spotter GPS tracker is not in motion, the location is sent every 30 minutes. You can view all locations for up to 7 days; after this period, the data is deleted.
That’s right, the Spotter GPS tracker and the Spotter GPS watch work subscription-free. You can choose from prepaid credit packages of 3, 6, 12 or 24 months. You can use the Spotter within this period, after which the service will stop. This means you can put the Spotter away for a while and then use it again by topping up your credit. No use means no charges.
You can set up different zones on the GPS tracker. These are virtual circles or geofences around a specific area, such as a home address, a park or a care home. You create a zone, and as soon as the Spotter enters or leaves the zone, you will receive a notification.
The Spotter GPS tracker is equipped with an SOS button. If the person wearing the Spotter presses this button, you will immediately receive a push notification on your smartphone, along with their location. You can then take action or call them via the Spotter.
When you switch on the Spotter, you will hear a short beep. After that, you won’t hear any more sounds, except when someone calls the Spotter, in which case it will ring.
The Spotter GPS tracker for seniors features a handy call function. This allows you to call the Spotter and speak to the wearer. It is worth noting that you can call the GPS tracker, but not make calls from it.
You can use the Spotter app, which is available to download for free from the App Store for iOS and the Google Play Store for Android. Once you have received your Spotter, simply add it to the app and you can start using the GPS tracker.
The locations are stored for 7 days and can be viewed via the Spotter software and app.
