What is the difference between GPS and GPRS?

Spotter’s products use GPS (satellites) to determine location data and GPRS (mobile network) to transmit it.

GPS

GPS (Global Positioning System) is a positioning system that operates via satellites. The satellites ensure that an object’s position is determined accurately.

GPRS

GPRS (General Packet Radio Service) is a system within the GSM network (telephone) that makes it possible to send and receive more information faster.

Are GPS and GPRS harmful?

GPS is a receiver and does not emit harmful radiation. Using GPRS is similar to using a mobile phone.
