Good question! The Spotter GPS tracker for children has a built-in battery that can last up to 5 days without needing to be charged. With regular use, you should charge the Spotter after 2 to 3 days. You can do this using the charging cable provided or via a handy Spotter Dock.
The Spotter is equipped with GPS (satellites) and GPRS (SIM card), which enables it to determine and transmit a location. Once a location has been determined, it is sent via a secure connection (VPN) to our online software. Here, the data is processed and made visible. You then log in via the online software and app to view the location and notifications sent by the Spotter GPS tracker.
You can mark out different areas as ‘zones’. These could include your home address, school, the woods, or any other zone you wish to create. Using the online software, you can draw a circle around the area. You will then receive a notification as soon as your child enters or leaves the zone. This is particularly useful if you let your child cycle to school on their own. You will receive an immediate message when they arrive at school or set off.
The great thing is that the Spotter GPS tracker for children comes with a secure SIM card as standard. So you don’t need to buy a prepaid SIM card yourself.
Absolutely. Anyone with the Spotter account login details can log in. This can be done simultaneously by as many people as you like. Every user who is logged in will receive push notifications on their smartphone. For example, when leaving a zone or when the SOS button is pressed.
