This makes all the difference
The senior citizen alarm watch uses GPS to determine the location, which is sent to our online software via the watch’s internal SIM card (GPRS). You can then log in online to view the location details.
You should fasten the SOS watch onto the wrist of the person going outside. You can then view their locations online and via the Spotter smartphone app. Their location is shown on a map.
The Spotter SOS watch works throughout Europe, which is not the case with all SOS watches. So even when you go on holiday, you can still use the Spotter. We recommend using the Spotter outdoors. Indoors, the signal may be weaker, which could affect the accuracy of the location tracking.
The Spotter alarm watch is equipped with a motion sensor that detects the difference between movement and stillness. When the watch is in motion, a location is sent every 5 minutes, which you can view immediately online via your account or the Spotter app. When the Spotter alarm watch is not in motion and is not being worn, the location is sent every 5 hours. You can view all locations for the past 24 hours; after this, the data is deleted.
Yes, the Spotter SOS watch is subscription-free. You can choose from prepaid credit packages of 3, 6, 12 or 24 months. You can use the Spotter within this period, after which the service will stop. This means you can put the Spotter away for a while and then use it again by topping up your credit. No use means no charges.
The Spotter SOS watch costs a one-off fee of €99.95, including a prepaid SIM card. It then operates using prepaid credit. Find out how the usage charges work here.
You can set up different zones on the senior alarm watch. These are virtual circles or safety zones around a specific area, such as your home address, a park or a care home. You create a zone, and as soon as the Spotter alarm watch enters or leaves the zone, you will receive a notification.
The Spotter senior alarm watch is equipped with an SOS button. If the wearer presses this button, you will immediately receive a push notification on your smartphone, along with their location. You can then take action or call them via the Spotter senior alarm watch.
When you switch on the SOS watch, you will hear a short beep. After that, you will not hear any more sounds, except when someone calls the SOS watch, in which case it will ring.
The Spotter SOS watch is equipped with a handy call function. This allows you to call the watch and communicate with the wearer. It is worth noting that you can call the watch, but not make calls from it.
You can use the Spotter app, which is available to download for free from the App Store for iOS and the Google Play Store for Android. Once you have received the Spotter senior alarm watch, simply add it to the app and you’re ready to start using it.
The locations are stored for 7 days and can be viewed via the Spotter software and app.
The battery life is up to 5 days, with an average of 3 days.
The warranty period is 24 months. Should you experience any issues with the watch, our support team will first attempt to resolve the problem remotely. If this proves impossible, you can return the Spotter and, if necessary, you will receive a replacement.
Unfortunately, not all senior citizen alarm watches are safe, as has been reported in the media on several occasions. Fortunately, Spotter GPS watches are completely safe to use and user privacy is also guaranteed. Read on to find out how we ensure this.
The Spotter SOS watch operates using GPS (satellites) and GPRS (integrated SIM card). This means the watch always has coverage throughout Europe. So wherever the SOS watch is, you can view its location online via your smartphone or PC.
